I was working at an insurance company when i was diagnosed with breast cancer. They told me "to take as much time as i needed" I have tons of emails of me requesting to come back immediately after my surgury. I offered to do chemo on my days off. After many months, they decided to terminate me. I fought this and told them i felt good and they insisted i come back after my chemo/radiaion treatments were finished. Just upon that time, i received my belongings in a box by the mail man.
I called to see what happened and no one would speak to me.
I can't imagine how this can be accepted and tolerated especially with the number of women who get this disease?
Please advise. I am sure I s/b compensated for the stress this caused me while trying to get better. The loss of income caused us to file bankrupcy and our lives turned up side down.
It is my belief they felt a woman could not return to her original ability and this discrimination to me left me fighting two battles.
Please help.
