i was driving down a hill in the dark, i had my lights on and there was a mo-ped following me about 30 meters away, as i got toward the bottom of the hill i have indicated to turn right and possissioned myself in the road n the corret place, i could see the mo-ped in my inside mirror and he was on the other side of me so it was ok to turn, on turning right the mo-ped hit my drivers door sending him, and a young girl (that shouldnt have been on the back) flying off the bike, everyone was ok and noone was hurt, his bike wouldnt start up and the side of my car is all dented in.
at the scene the person driving the mo-ped admitted falt saying that he was going too fast and as he was on a hill and had a passenger his brakes was not slowing him down fast enough, the person driving the mo-ped was a learner and shouldnt have had a passenger on the back, as we were exchanging insurence details he asked me not to tell anyone that he had a passenger as it would most certainly get him in alot of trouble, i stupidly agreed to this, as i was in shock at what had just happened, i have since found out by talking to his insurence company that he is trying to blame me for the insident saying that i had pulled out on him, i would like some advice if any one can help? will an insurence company surveyer be able to tell from the damage to my car that it wasnt my falt? there were no whitnesses. should i tell the police that therewas a girl on the bike? if so will he go to prision?
