Sorry for posting this here, but I can't find a more appropriate place.
I just got off the phone with the civil index clerk in los angeles, and she says there is no record of my divorce in 1996 or 1997. Does anyone know how I should proceed? My ex (I hope!) filed it and mailed me a copy of judgment entered at the time. It looked official. But to make a long story short, he was crazy and abusive so I stayed away from him and assumed all was good. Can someone point me in the right direction from here?
