I dropped my car off about 3 months ago to have my engine replaced along with the clutch with a mechanic. Needless to say it has been a very very long time and he still has not finished the work. I recieved an initial quote of $1800 to do the all of the work and I gave him an initial deposit of $1000. A few weeks later he called me and gave me this sob story about how he just lost thousands of dollars because a customer disputed the charge and the credit card company took the money back and he asked if I could pay more of my bill, so I went ahead and paid him another $700 (I know not the smartest thing to do). So now my question is this, if I pull my car to take it to another mechanic What refund am I entitled to? I would say he is maybe 50-60% done with the work. Thanks
