My fiancee' purchased a car from a dealership with 60,183 miles on it. She was also sold an extended powertrain warrantee good until 90,183 miles. Well, we recently left Myrtle Beach SC to move to Dallas, the car broke down in Savannah GA. A wrecker picked us up and took the car to his shop. Luckilly my parents lived 3 hours away so they picked us up(we've been here a month now). She calls the warantee company, they said to inform the mechanic to tear apart the engine so an inspector can check it out. In his report - the company will not cover the repair - or ANY work the mechanic has done because the timing belt wasn't replaced by 60,000 miles. Remember when I said she bought the car with 60,183? So, we've been stuck here for a month missing work and racking up storage fees from the mechanic. To me, it sounds like we were sold a void warrantee. The car is still under 90,000 miles. What should we do?
