Is there a statute of limitations on unpaid bills

I settled a WC claim on April 19,2005. I agreed to pay any outstanding medical cost at the time of settlement. On Sept.09,2009, I received an invoice from a third party billing corp. for $2229.11. I never knew this bill had not been paid, I was not even aware there was a bill. This is the first I've heard of it. Is there a time limit on collecting bills such as this?
