Boyfriend was served with paperwork to sign over rights before adoption of the child took place. Does child support stop when he signs his rights over? The papers say that upon signing there will be not be a hearing otherwise there is one set up for a later date. He is the non-custodial parent, has never met the child & was only informed that there was one after he was almost 2 yrs old & thus socked w/ a ton of back child pay. Only concern is if it will stop but dont want to sign over rights unless he knows the adoption will go through so that she doesn't try and go for more money.
