My wife and I purchased an SUV from some friends in the amount of 10k. We signed a contract and have made all the monthly payments. Yes we bought it on contract. We paid it off and the sellers signed over the title. Now they are taking us to court saying we owe them 4720.00 for the vehicle. Because of being "friends" they never gave us receipts at all. They have printed off some phony payment schedule off of Excel. What can we do? Should we just give the vehicle back?

Gather your banking records, canceled checks, copies of money orders etc. are best, showing all of your payments and present them and the signed title to the judge. Good luck.

This is some good advice. By collecting your banking statements you can prove the money all left your account and the dates in which it left.

As they have no real evidence it may be difficult for them to present this as a case.
