I have been working for a company as an independent contractor for the past 4 years. Just recently my boss has been diagnosed with a fatal brain tumor. He now wants all the employees to sign confidentiality agreements. Myself and another employee are refusing to sign and he has now given us 72 hours to sign them or we are fired. Correct me if I am wrong, but aren't employee contracts supposed to be signed and put away before I even start the job?? Is Durass all of a sudden not illegal anymore and I missed that? Please can someone give me some advice...this is a very scary situation and I do not know where to turn!:confused:
