My parents are each 82 years old and not in the best of health. My Dad is in and out of the hospital with his heart and my mom has Alzheimer's. They do live in their own house and my nephew is their unspoken "caretaker" that lives with them. My older sister is currently the executor of their will but she has said outright that when they are gone, noone will get anything as she will be in charge. Her husband (nasty, angry, mean person) rules the roost and he will be the one making decisions. I have spoken to my father about this and he has heard her say things like that and keeps telling me he is going to change the will and make me the executor. I will do what they want and deal with my sister accordingly, per their will. She has said that if our Dad goes first, she will have my Mom committed to a home. I can't even fathom doing that. I am just wondering, if this change does not occur before I may lose them both (they are dragging their feet getting to a lawyer) what exactly can my sister take charge of....? Lock up their house, take charge of their bank accounts, write herself checks....? We have not spoken in over 2 years due to her husband hating every living thing so this is not a discussion I can have with her. Any insight is helpful! Thanks!

thsi sounds like an absolutely awful situation to be in, my family experienced some similar problems and my advice to you would be to get this will change asap. Some lawyers and will writers will come to your home or your parents home and the process really can be very quick.. this will save so much time, hurt and heartache in thr future.
