I was fired from my job yesterday with Zenta Mortgage Services. Zenta is an outsourcing company and our client is Citimortgage. Our entire environment is paperless and we rely on our computers to do our jobs and be productive. My computer went down on 3/23 for an hour an a half. When I came in on 3/24, my computer was down all morning. No one was able to help me. I emailed my supervisor, her supervisor, our IT person and our help desk. I was extremely frustrated that I could not do my job. I emailed my supervisor and told her I was going to lunch and when I returned, if my computer still wasn't working, I would be leaving for the day. I told her I should not have to use my PTO for it since it is a computer issue that they cannot fix. I went to lunch, came back cooled off and was immediately taken to HR and fired for being "insubordinate" because I said I was going to go home. I didn't go home and I wasn't going to. I feel that under the definition of the law, my actions are not considered "insubordinate" and feel I was wrongfully terminated. Your advice/thoughts, please?
