I have been divorced for 3 years. The home that My ex and I had was awarded to my ex in the divorce. I was paid a lump sum of money for my half of the equity in the house.
I am still on the deed, AND the mortgage. I have asked several times that he re-finance it to get it out of my name, but he refuses to do so. In my divorce decree it does not state that he has to re-finance the house. It only states that I am not liable for the home. The mortgage is still on my credit, and I am unable to obtain additional credit because of this.
Is there anything I can do to force my ex to refinance the house? :confused:
