I have a friend whom is the Father of an 18mo. old child. The mother abandoned the child with the father. I am trying to help him out as much as I can. I sent him an airline ticket to come where I live. They were suppose to leave on Tues., 4/3/07. Today he was served with papers from the the county sherriff's department from his own mother (the child's grandmother) regarding custody of the child and barring him from leaving the state of Tennessee. They live in a really small town in Tennessee. She is very friendly with most of the affluent people in this town. After she had him served with these papers, she called back to the sherriff's department and had them tell her son to leave her home,(in which he was living there with his son) and they (the sherriff's dept.) would not let him take his son with him. What can he do to get his son and still make his flight. He was coming here to start a whole new life. Alot of arrangements have been made to help him with this process. IE: Place to live, A Job with benefits, etc. Please help us.
