I don't know that this is necessarily the right place to ask this question, but I'll give it a shot.

I am a supplier to all of the major automotive companies. One of the companies has a policy that their main (and closer) employee parking lots are designated for only vehicles that are made by them. All other competitor vehicles must park in a far off lot and the driver then needs to walk across a private but busy street with no crosswalks or pedestrian postings. Some of the buildings do not even have parking within walking distance or the employee must cross a 4 lane public street. In these cases the employee has to take a shuttle from another building.

My main issue is that this doesn't seem safe. My other issue is that this doesn't seem fair. Being that I supply all auto manufacturers, I do not have a bias to what car I drive. I buy the car what I think is best for my money. Even if I was a direct employee to this company, I should not have undue pressure to buy their vehicles.

So, my question is...Is this legal for them to force those who do not purchase their product to park in a separate lot even if it is their private property? Since they are using buses to shuttle people across a public street, would that change the legality of the issue?

I'd recommend getting advice from a local solicitor who knows automotive law - they'll be able to help you more
