I am in Indiana. My son will be 18 in December. He is on probation for a battery charge in another county. The PO in the county we live in told me that they will not send him back to DOC even if he violates his probation unless it's something bad because he is so close to 18. He and my husband got into it and my husband kicked him out about a month. I was at my whits end. I was letting my son stay with friends for a few days while I looked for a temporary place for us to live. I figured when my son turned 18 he planned to move out anyway and I was trying to save my marriage. My son took off 3 weeks ago. My son didn't show up for a court hearing last week so now he's a runaway with a warrant for his arrest for failure to appear. Since these are juvenile charges I am thinking of getting a lawyer to petition the court to drop the case after my son turns 18. Do you think this is doable? I just want my son to have a clean slate once he turns 18. Thank you.
