Hi! Hope someone can answer my question.
Facts
grandparents owned a home and had 7 children, in 1993 when they went into a nursing home they put the house in trust for 1 of their children - a mentally retared adult male - another child (my mother) was named as the trustee. i lived in the house and took care of my uncle- but he proved to be too much for me and needed more care so he went to a group home.
grandparents have since died and my uncle (the mentally retarded male is in a nursing home)
My partner & I have continued to live in the house, paying the taxes and taking care of the property. i am currently receiving county disability for several medical conditions.
my question is 1-what happens to the property when my uncle dies
2- we would like to make major improvements to the house and grounds but are afraid to put money into something we don't own.
My mother says she doesn't have the papers my grandfather had drawn up for the house.
Any info would be appreciated.
Thank you
