I had worked for my boss for 6 years and she sent back to school (which took 16 months) and paid my time off work for me to go (8 hrs a week). I am now leaving and there has been mention of trying to get that time and tuition paid back. I have worked for 2 years after completeing the schooling. The agreement was only verbal that I would stay. The work environment has only dinished through the years. Do they have a chance of me having to repay this?

I don't think you should have to pay it back. Unless you have a written agreement that says that, then you are not obligated to do so. She's just bitter that you are leaving. It's not like tuition reimbursement where you pay for it upfront and then the company would pay you back. She paid for all of it? You didn't have any agreements?

No written sgreements, no contracts, nothing. You're right, just bitter. I expect that after 9 years emplyment there are hard feelings becuase we were close but not act like a complete butt. I just wanted to get some other thoughts on the matter. Thanks for the encouragement.
