I hired a contractor in California who violated our contract. I filed a complaint against him to the CSLB & the BBB. Soon after learning about my complaints, he decided to meet with me. For my own protection & to help me win the case against him, I secretly recorded our conversation. Later, I was told by a friend that I cannot use this tape because it is illegal. Is this true? Did I violated any law?
