I am five months pregnant and the father of my child does not want anything to do with me or the baby. When I first told him that I was pregnant he tried to force me into having an abortion and when I said no he forced me to right up a paper saying that I would never contact him and would never tell the baby about him. He then forced my family to sign as witnesses but two of my family members didn't sign their real names. He stated that if I attempt to get child support from him or even if domestic relations contacts him he will get a lawyer and try and take my child away out of spite and then give the child away. I have not spoken or contacted him infact I am afraid of him. What are my rights? Do I need to get a lawyer?

First you would have to get a DNA test to prove he is the father. His current actions not being involved when you are pregnant he has less than a slim chance of getting this baby. You cannot just give a baby away without both parents consent. If DNA proves he is the father you can get child support regardless of his threats. Keep you record and nose clean and be the best you can be. You can raise this child alone you certainly do not need a man like this one. You will find someone oneday that will accept you child. Get the DNA child support and get him out of your life. Give you an your baby a life you deserve. If you do not have the money go to your Human Resource in your area ask for help they will lead you in the right direction. Good Luck
