Hi, I got a ticket for expired registration and MV about 5 months ago. I went in to make payment arrangements but they told me I would have to pay at least $176 otherwise they would arrest me. The warrant officer was very rude and disrespectful. He gave me a month to pay the rest of the fine, and I explained that I wasn't working at the time and that I'd like to arrange some other way to pay or if I could do community service. The officer said that wasn't possible and asked my cousin if she'd loan me the $176 so I wouldn't go to jail.

The thing is that all this time i've tried to talk to somebody to help me make some sort of arrangement but they keep on transfering me to the same person. The warrant officer told me that he was the only person I could talk to and he and the rest of the personel refused to transfer me to the Judge. I asked to set up an appointment and they transferred me to him, every time I call it's him the one I talk to.

I make $1099 a month. I can't afford to pay the rest of the ticket which is $240. Is there anything I could do ??? File a complaint?? Send a letter ???

By the way, the ticket was issued in Hidalgo Texas.

Please help

Well...if it were me...I would first send a letter by mail and by fax. Second, I would send a payment of some sort, but be sure you have a receipt of some sort to prove you sent it; a check is fine and serves as a receipt. Also, keep record of everyone you speak with and dates. If you are sending payments along the way and you end up in the pokey and it goes to court, it will look a whole lot better if you were trying to pay something. Just keep your cool the best you can and don't give up.
Keep making payments anyway!
