Hello,
Recently I have moved from Tucson Arizona to Minnesota. I have had issues since then with my landlord keeping well over half of my security deposit. she did follow proceedure by sending me a list of issues. including replacement of mini blinds. carpet cleaning weather stripping under the front door and a broken microwave handle. the carpets were cleaned by me befor i moved out. I have reciepts to show payment for rugdoctor, I have pictures to show the apartment was cleaned and the miniblinds were replaced by me and were in good working order. I'm not sure exactly what the weather stripping was for. there was never one under the door. the microwave handle was my fault it came of in my hand as i opened the door to clean it. total for these items came to 650.00. what I would like to know is if there is any other way to handle this issue. If I have to go to small claims court thats fine. I have a trip planned to go back to tucson in March... am allowed to wait that long to file the case? is there some other type of mediation we can go through? i have talked with her on the phone and she said that she is fully prepared to go to court and is not willing to dicuss this with me at this time
