question about my ticket?

i was pulled over today for an illegal exhaust and window tint while driving down the highway. i was not sppeding i was wearing my seatbelt,and did nothing illegal when i was pulled over. Can i be pulled over for these non-moving violations when no moving violations were committed?

Yes you can in any state. There is no way for an officer to tell if your car has faulty exhaust without that car being started which often times means that the vehicle was being driven. As for the window tinting that is also a common excuse for officers to pull people over. So the officer was probably just bored and picked you for a target that day unfortunately.

In my opinion i would agree here, targeting drivers for one reason such as yours as your stated often leads to other tickets being issued. This is how people are caught out.
