Recently, while I was at work, someone smashed out the window in my car. I was on company time, doing company work, and my car was parked on company property. The area where my car was parked was lit but could not be seen from my work area. The company told me that I was responsible for paying for the damage as the car was out of my sight. They also told me that my insurance company would cover it. I explained to them that my car is over 20 years old and the insurer would not allow me to put that much coverage on it. Their reply "Tough luck". Can I make them reimburse me for this?
