Which way to go

I recently got into an accident on the freeway where another driver switched lanes into my car. He admitted guilt on the scene but when the insurance agency took statements he said I ran into him. His insurance agency said I was unable to sustain the burden of proof. The way I see it I can try and fight this in Small claims court b/c anyone with sense could see I wouldn't turn the front end of my car into the back end of his car, or since I have full coverage and the damage is beyond my deductible I could file a claim with my insurance company and avoid the hassle. I just don't really know which way to go.
