I recently put earnest money of $500 on a double-wide manufactured home in an attempt to buy the home. As it is now 5 days from closing, the real estate agent contacted me with information that the home may not be the property of the person selling it through the agent. I was offered a deal to rent the home for $1000 a month untill the person originally selling the home figures out if they actually own it and have the right to sell it. I would like to know what my options are besides just disputing the $500 in a small claims court. If i have any right to claim falsely selling property not in their possesion or what. I and my spouse are not made of money and this is putting us in quite the predicament as you know that everything is riding on us getting this house as our own. Thank you.
